Testimonials
Here are some comments from people who have enjoyed working with me.
Session work and performing
Annie has played on numerous film and tv scores I’ve composed. Her playing is of course excellent, and what she also brings is creativity, engagement and generosity which has brought those scores to life. She’s also appeared on records I’ve made (Grasscut ‘1946’, Ninja Tune Records) - there’s a directness and clarity in her playing that for me makes this track. And in a live setting her playing is always exploratory, sensitive, and pretty fearless!" |
This sort of improv is the type of art experience that gives back 110% - risk at such a high level - exceptional." |
Teaching
My daughter has greatly benefited from Annie’s teaching skill, patience and encouragement. She has now reached a stage where the violin and piano will remain a musical gift that she can enjoy for the rest of her life." |
I've been with Annie for 13 years, having taken up the violin again after a break of 25 years. Her professional and friendly teaching style has made my re-entry into the musical world a very rewarding experience, and she has not only introduced me to a variety of new music styles, but also to other violinists who I now enjoy regular playing sessions with. Annie is a great inspiration and I recommend her highly." |
I would highly recommend Annie as a violin teacher – she comes to my house for the lesson, she is fun to learn with, she plays alongside me, works at my pace, is reliable and gives a mix of classical teaching while also adapting the music to my particular music tastes and interests." |
Annie is a wonderful piano teacher. Not only has she taught myself and my husband, but our 6 year old daughter, who loves the lessons and gets so much joy out of playing for her friends and family. I could not recommend Annie enough for music lessons!" |
Workshops
This is the freest I’ve ever felt when doing art.” |
Terrific - the space, the freedom, the imaginative putting together of materials, music and ideas produced a huge variety of individual work. Incomparable.” |
Annie's workshop has electrified my mind. It’s been buzzing with ideas." |
I’m often out sketching outdoors on my own, but taking part in a led-walk through a dappled woodland path and up onto the top of Whitehawk Hill with Annie and other sketchers gave it a whole new dimension.
The panoramic views were stunning and Annie challenged us with tasks to related to recording what we saw with different approaches and with different media. It was lovely to compare results with other sketchers and chat about our work.

A really stimulating day that wove together sound and mark making into something bigger and shared.” |
Really enjoyed it! New and different experience. Will be using today’s creations in collage for my art course and making a project from them. Thanks very much.” |
Walks
Annie shares her love of the landscape with infectious enthusiasm." |
Annie seeks out dramatic places and varied landscapes and her walks are always perfectly paced. She looks after her walkers with cheerful good humour and I thoroughly recommend the experience." |
Walks with Annie are good fun, well planned, energetic and varied. She is a good leader who makes you feel you are in safe hands.” |
"Annie takes great care and pride when organising her walks and this is reflected by the fact that there is always a waiting list when signing up for them. On many occasions I have been lucky to share in stunning aspects of Sussex's coastline and countryside, this has been complemented only by beautiful weather and delightful company. I have gained many happy memories from walking with Annie and I would encourage anyone considering doing the same to put on those boots!"

Annie's approach to leading group walks is light-hearted, yet responsible. Her routes are always beautiful and her enthusiasm for the outdoors shines through. I'd follow Annie anywhere!" |
It was a stunning day to be out on the Downs. The lovely route you planned took us on paths I haven't been on before, way up the back of the Stanmer estate. Loved afternoon tea too at the little cafe. A well planned and executed walk Annie, thank you.” Helen G, Brighton |
