I am a musician, writer, visual artist, workshop facilitator and tutor based in Brighton, UK. My creative work is inspired by people, cities, nature and wild places. When I'm not doing creative work, I can usually be found walking on hill, sitting on the beach or tending my garden. |
Music - I am a violinist, pianist, composer and improviser who is fascinated by music and sounds. I love working with others and collaborate with musicians, composers, dancers, writers, visual artists and film makers on joint workshops, sessions and projects. As a music tutor, I work with adults and young people both individually and in groups and ensembles. I love enabling others to play and enjoy what music brings. I have a passion for creating scores and music with instructions that enable people of any age, any ability and any level of musical experience to play pieces together.
Writing - I write poetry, fiction, script for performances and non fiction, some of which appears in limited edition books. My writing has been published in various journals, anthologies and online. My fiction was selected for Live Literature performance at Brighton’s Theatre Royal. My work has been selected for places in masterclasses and workshops.
Visual art - I love drawing, painting, collage and photography. Walking with a sketchbook and pen in my pocket is my idea of a perfect day.
Handmade books - Although I now make far fewer handmade books than I used to, I still enjoy making them for gifts, special orders or for my own projects. I have had many happy customers through selling my books in Brighton Artists Open Houses and Pop up sales.
